The network Cellular Metallic Materials founds and supports the collaboration of interested partners in the field of cellular metallic materials. The network bundles the competences of companies and institutes that are endued with the technological knowhow for the development and manufacturing of cellular metallic materials made of various components and wants to use the attributes diversity of these materials for established and new applications. The Federal Ministry of Economy and Technology supported the network within the sponsor contest “Netzwerkmanagement-Ost (NEMO)“ from 2007 till 2009. The network is initiated and managed by the Fraunhofer Institute for Machine Tools and Forming Technology IWU in Chemnitz.
